The Story of Us

Way back in 1978, when Grease, Animal House were box office hits and Christopher Reeves was Superman, Andy Gibbs topped the Billboard 100 with "Shadow Dancing" along with the BeeGee's. Jimmy Carter was President, and gas cost an average of .69 cents. In the fall of this year, in Safford Arizona, Tim was born. Third child and only son of his parents, Tim came into this world surrounded by women, which set the pretense for the rest of his life. When he was five, his family moved to Mesa, Arizona. Shortly after he met his two best friends, and made his life here. Growing up Catholic, he thought he was going to become a priest. Fast forward 10 years-he ended his long term relationship with the mother of his three children, and re-dedicated his life to his faith, emerging himself in the church and allowing God to heal his broken spirit.

In 1982, Reagan was President, gas cost about .91 cents a gallon and movies such as The Thing and Fast Times at Ridgemont High were out and Olivia Newton-John topped the Billboard 100 with "Let's get physical". Early that year, almost 1800 miles east of Arizona, Elizabeth was born on one of the coldest nights near Chicago. She remained the only child of her parents for 6 years, growing up in Buffalo Grove, IL. In third grade she met her best friend for life and they endured the rest of their Catholic school days together. After high school, she enlisted in the Air Force. Fast forward to 2012, she was the divorced mother of three young children residing in Mesa, Arizona piecing her life back together after returning to the Catholic faith.

In July 2013 is where the Story of Us begins. We met through Catholic Match and after a 30 minute "conversation" online about hockey, I (Liz) gave Tim my phone number. Our first date was a few days later, we met for adoration and then spent almost four hours talking over coffee in Barnes and Noble.
In September we introduced our children to each other, and the 6 kids, all close in age created an instant bond and friendship (don't be fooled-it has not all been sunshine and rainbows).
Finally on the Feast of the Holy Family (December 29), Tim asked Liz to marry him, and in November of 2014, we were married.
